Census 2020 Hard To Count map application: This nifty app was developed by CUNY Mapping Service at the City University of New York's Graduate Center. The underlying tech:

• Esri's ArcGIS software, including map layers hosted via ArcGIS Online;
• Carto's basemap for reference;
• Google's places API;
• Leaflet and Esri's Leaflet tools;
• Bootstrap, Vue.js, Lodash, jQuery, and Visual Studio.

LinkedIn: A post from Ozair A. Khan, who works in GIS in oil and gas, shared an analogy. "The relationship between GIS professionals and cartography is like that between professors and teaching."  It's an interesting proposition to consider. Via Rich Schultz.

Azavea Blog: #HOTLunch: Volunteer Your Lunch Break to Support Disaster Relief Effort - What you need to know to set up a monthly team volunteer commitment to help non-profits with mapping tasks (no experience required). Azavea's Dan Ford suggests organizations try to gather the last Wednesday of every month at noon local time. This is also great project for scouts, informal groups, high schools.
