The Daily (University of Washington): People’s History map details the UW’s racist history, emphasizes student movement - The People’s History group, in collaboration with the Geography Graduate Student Association, presented its newly published interactive map, “A People’s Landscape: Racism and Resistance at UW, ...The map is a historical guide to the university’s legacy of racism and colonialism, featuring 32 locations across the UW Seattle campus, each marked with a representative photo." It's a StoryMapJS application.

Ohio State: Pandemic has surprising impacts on public transit demand - "While demand for public transit dropped about 73% across the country after the pandemic hit, the reduction didn’t impact all cities equally, according to the study, which analyzed activity data from a widely used public transit navigation app. Large, coastal cities – like Seattle, San Francisco and Washington, D.C – saw demand fall further than cities in the Midwest and South."

The United States Geospatial Intelligence Foundation (USGIF) has launched the EdGEOcation Giving Campaign to raise money and awareness for USGIF’s educational programs. The Foundation has set the goal to raise $5,000 by Dec. 31.

The University of Arkansas Department of Geosciences in the J. William Fulbright College of Arts and Sciences has succeeded in raising more than $500,000 to meet the Walton Family Charitable Support Foundation Match for geosciences doctoral fellowships.
